Who is responsible for your data

Boost My Site is owned and operated by Yakou8. Yakou8 is the data controller for the personal data described here, which means we decide why and how it is used. Contact us about privacy at George@yakou8.com.

What we collect and why

  • Account details (email address, name and sign-in details, including from Google sign-in) — to create your account and keep your surveys available on every device. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Survey data (the website addresses you submit, the public pages we read, reports, competitor addresses and fix checklists) — to provide the service. Legal basis: contract.
  • Purchase records (what you bought, when and the amount, plus reference numbers from our payment provider) — to unlock what you paid for and meet accounting duties. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
  • Technical data (IP address, browser and device information, a browser identifier for your surveys, usage logs) — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests and contract.

Card and payment details are collected directly by Paddle, not by us.

Who we share it with

  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Service providers who host and run the service for us, including hosting and database, website-reading, page-speed, keyword-data and AI-processing providers. They only process data on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers such as legal and accounting advisers, where needed.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and survey data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except purchase records, which we keep as long as accounting law requires. Security logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. Email George@yakou8.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Sweden this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls that keep each account's data private, and limited staff access.

Cookies and local storage

We only use essential storage: it keeps you signed in and remembers which surveys belong to your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, but you will be signed out and may lose access to surveys not saved to an account.
